We had the pleasure recently of designing the packaging for Williams-Sonoma’s new glass Popcorn Popper and Popcorn Bags. We wanted the design to have a bold, retro feel that referenced classic carnival imagery. The finished box and popper turned out pretty fun and if you’re interested the popper is available online here.

Here’s some new tins we designed for Williams-Sonoma’s new line of Artisan Hot Chocolates. All the flavors are pretty delicious although I’d have to say our personal favorite is the Toasted Almond. Many thanks to Mike Hester, Sarah Hingston and the team at Williams-Sonoma for such a tasty project!
They’re available for purchase here.

Every year Target puts on a series of 5 carnivals for the kids and families at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. This year we are super excited to be working with the team at Target to develop the visuals for the carnivals. Last summer we visited the Target House at St. Jude to learn about all the inspiring things they do for patients and families and see firsthand everything that goes into producing one of the incredible carnivals.
This year’s first carnival, which took place last week, was a Valentine’s theme. The Target team decided to draw from Memphis’ rich musical history and throw a vintage-inspired Rock n’ Roll party, complete with an Elvis impersonator. Target house’s mascot is an elephant and this year they thought it would be great to do a mouse and elephant character combo. So in this case, an Elvis elephant and a mouse rocking some Chuck Berry moves.
Above is the poster advertising the event and below are some images of the characters posing in their “street clothes” as well as some of the ceiling hanging elements and activity signs.
Thanks to Ted Halbur, Aaron Muther & Amy Hardy at Target for making this such a fun collaboration!
